The legacy of the Fields family  starts in the 1800's in Lee and Monroe counties in Mississippi. A sharecropper and wife, unknown to us, had six children that continued the lineage of the Fields name. Anderson Fields,  Gray Fields, Will Henry Fields, Sarah Fields, Martha Ann Fields, Mae Fields Davis and Lizzie Fields are all the early ancestors that stated the Fields/Goree Line.

Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. So, it was the beginning for John and Lizzie as they were united in a bond of friendship, commitment, generosity, and understanding. In the 1800's they were joined in marriage. To this union eight children were born: Elliot, Will (Bubba), GP (Uncle Go), Ollie (Hun) Samantha (Aunt Sis), Jim Otis (Nean),  Luther (saint, and William Henry (Piggy).
